Down 90lbs and Counting ...

I get several messages a week asking me if I'm continuing to shed pounds, so I will keep trying to remember to post updates.

Part of me wishes I could say what I’m doing is praiseworthy or takes some Herculean effort, but that wouldn’t be truth. I’ve been on over 30 different “mainstream” diets in my life from 11 years old on ... and experienced at least some level of “success” on each. That is - I had “success” in treating the SYMPTOM of excess fat instead of the CAUSE of malnutrition (first world malnutrition looks like that of royalty in days gone by).

Those diets I was on were hard. With most I was hungry, they took major effort and willpower and other than losing some pounds I didn’t feel great (and genetic conditions that I always had - psoriasis, sleep apnea, etc ... were left unchanged).

This is totally different. I don’t feel like I’m reporting the results of a diet. I’m just sharing an ongoing snapshot of how a totally different lifestyle choice is impacting me (and those around me).

All I’ve done is make a choice to fuel my body with a whole foods, plant-based diet and my body has been healing from the inside out. Even before I had lost the first 10 lbs my snoring and apnea had ceased, and my blood pressure had started to drop. Since then, my blood pressure is down to the ideal level, I’m asymptomatic with psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis ... and just yesterday I realized I haven’t taken a single antacid in 2018. All the while I eat like I’m at a buffet every day, I’ve never been hungry, and I have more energy and stamina.

I simply stopped harming myself, I’m fueling with firsthand protein, carbs and healthy nutrients, and God’s awesome design of my body took over in healing much of the damage I had caused - and continues to do so.

For those who have asked, when I hit the 100lb mark - most likely in November - I’ll start blogging/vlogging to share more about my motivations, what God has been teaching me, the research that led me to this lifestyle choice, what my day to day looks like, etc...

Till then - thanks to all who have supported me, prayed for me, and cared enough to want this for me. I love and appreciate you more than you know.

Thanks especially to my sister Dr. Vicky Scott - who has always been a great example of health and wellness and integrating medical intervention -when needed- with supporting our body's God-given homeopathic design. I wish I would have paid better attention sooner. (If you live in the Asheville, NC area - you totally owe it to yourself to take one of her Wellness classes.)
